If your birthday involves a car accident, is that a hint that I should stop opening umbrellas inside?

Ok, for those of you wondering, I was in a slight fender bending accident (thankfully I wasn't driving otherwise I would have sworn off driving for good). Me, my mom and my sister are all alright though I think I'm a bit stiff from the shock of it and just need to sleep it off. So, I got my excitement for the day along with being shown what to do when involved in a car accident.
Other than that, I had a pretty good birthday; nice and simple without much hoorah. Got to play board games with my family and just enjoy the day with them. As for gifts, I got the new Skillet cd, the dvd for 'Hunt for Red October' and a letter opener that is a minature of some sword (no idea which one it is but I'll try to find out eventually).
To finish off the evening, we rented a movie (Disney's Cars which was okay but not my favorite). So, to conclude, it was a good birthday and I'm finally adjusting to the fact that I am in my twenties.

Christmas has come and gone and The New Year is coming

Okay, lengthy title but I have lost my creativity for very short, inspiring titles. Hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone and that the New Year is coming upon us so quickly. Not sure what I can really say about 2006. It was an interesting year. The summer held the first time that I've spent so much time at a camp and been away from my parents. It was difficult, but it was a good experience. School has gone better in 2006 even though I am disappointed about not graduating this year having not liking having to do more work for my French courses than I am normally use to. Oh well, I'll live. I managed to complete the list of movies that I wanted to watch during this year and am tempted to make a new list of books to finish by January 1st (though I'm not sure if that will be possible).
It's weird how vacation has flown by and soon I will be back in school (blah). It's funny how, before on vacation, you plan to do certain things during vacation but never do it. For me, it was writing a couple of French papers but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Maybe I'll do it on the 2nd just to get me in the school mood. Not likely but it's a thought.
I have since given up on New Year's Resolutions as I don't think I ever remember them or else have never actually accomplished one. I may be stupid later and make a resolution.
Tomorrow is my birthday which I find extremely weird and I will be turning the horribly old age of 22. Not finding it as bad as 20 or 21. Guess I'm finally getting use to the fact that I am in my 20s now. It's interesting that health wise and body aging wise, everything goes down hill when you stop growing which ranges from age 16-22. So I am on the downward spiral and will probably notice that my trip down will gain speed as I get older (kind of depressing but oh well, such is life). Okay, I have kind of ended this on a depressing note. Too tired right now to think of something more uplifting to end this with.
The books that I am planning to finish by New Year's day are "Darwin's Black Box", "In Quest of Jesus" and "Redeeming love". We'll see if I accomplish this or not. So far I've been finding the first 2 really boring and have been trying to finish them for over a year now (definitely time to finish them). Third one is definitely more interesting and is written by Francine Rivers (I think).
Not sure if I'll write something before New Year's Day so Happy New Year to everyone and I wish everyone a great year in 2007!

Christmas specials and figure skating

I think one of the things I love about the winter time are the Christmas specials and figure skating. I have to admit that I haven't been as passionate about figure skating as I was when I was a child but every so often I do like to watch it, especially around the time of the olympics.
Anyway, last night I watched Brian Orser's Christmas special (for those of you who don't know, Brian Orser was an Olympic figure skater about 20 years ago). In the special was a man by the name of Gary Beacom. Probably not as well known as Brian Orser, Kurt Browning or Elvis Stojko. He is actually quite entertaining to watch and his performances are...different. I had actually seen one of his performances in some sort of skating special a few years ago where he skated to the song "I'm Your Man" and remembered it to be quite unique. To give all of you a taste of his uniqueness, I have provided to videos from when he competed professionally (and believe it or not, he actually won a bronze medal at an Olympics).
Anyway, enjoy and think to yourself, if I was a judge, how would I score this :P.

It's the most wonderful time of the year

I don't think I ever realized how stressful doing Christmas cards was until I took on the task of doing the family's Christmas cards this year. Of course I was hoping everything would be wonderfully organised with all the addresses ready so all I have to do is look at a sheet of paper and not worry about a thing. What I come to find is that everything is completely unorganized and I'm beginning to wonder what compelled me to take on the challenge. I think it was hoping to take some stress off of mom and dad and hoping to get the cards out on time. Well, half the cards will make it on time; the other half will be late.
Aside from the stresses of Chrismas cards, things are good. I'm on my Christmas break, I have all my Christmas and birthday shopping done and I still have money in my bank account without being in debt to my parents or sisters (I tend to be a little money happy when it comes to gifts).
Today is Sarah's Birthday so I'm going to yell out a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'm beginning to find December birthdays make the Christmas season a bit more stressful (including my own birthday). Oh well, such is life. As long as in the rush I don't loose what my focus should be during Christmas and take time to remember what Christ has done for me!

blah

I have nothing deep to say, just complaints to make mainly at school work. I'll try not to complain too much since I should be studying and not on here typing away but inspiration tends to come when you're suppose to be doing other things. I think the majority of drawings that I do tend to be when I'm brainstorming for a paper or studying for a big exam or else when I'm sitting through a class that I'm not finding to interesting and my mind begins to wonder and before you know it, I'm doodling on the page. It's actually rather interesting how many little sketches are on the side of my French notes.
And then you have those moments where you are suddenly caught in the act of doing something other than what you should be doing, like what happened to me just now where I have all my Fench homework out; spread around me at one of the computer terminals at school and yet here I am writing on my blog when suddenly one of my French classmates discovers me and I guiltily confess my sins of having been distracted and in my mind promis myself that I will start right after I finish this. Okay, this is actually turning into random thoughts based on random inspiration. I suppose that's what school does to you.
As for my complaints, my French classes (mainly grammar) seem to be extreemely intense with a lot of homework. Okay, now to work on my copious amounts of French homework (hopefully).

Nothing better to do

Since I can't seem to leave anything empty I am now stuck with having to write in any website that I join that has some sort of journal or whatever. Thankfully with the last one I smartened up and decided to import a blog in. As you can tell, I have no life whatsoever.
Today is my last day working and I'm a bit sad. I really enjoyed it. I just hope the students enjoyed it just as much as I have.
Since I just mentioned a last, I'll now mention a first (yeah I have no life). This morning actually got down to below 0 degrees and there was actually frost on the ground. Ok, it's not like I haven't seen frost before but what's weird is that this is the first frost of the fall season. Usually we would have gotten our first frost sometime in October. Weird huh.

It's funny how every so often I get in the writing mood. Right now I am horribly sick with a cold (okay, I'm probably making more of it than it is but I do have a nasty head cold and am having problems thinking at this time). It's a beautiful Thanksgiving day and for once, it's relatively warm outside (I would say in the teens somewhere which is extremely rare for this time of year). The air has the dying smell of fall, which, in a strange way, is quite pleasant and makes one want to snuggle into a nice warm sweater and sip on hot chocolate (of course with marshmellows).

So here it goes; blog # 5 which has been strictly created for the purpose of having a blog user name so I can comment on other people's blog. I will probably never use this blog unless I decide to say I've updated another blog.
